NSG bomb squad conducts inspection at Nowgam blast site | KNO

Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNO): A Bomb Disposal Squad of the National Security Guard (NSG) Sunday reached the blast site in Nowgam that killed 9 people and injured 32 others after a stockpile of seized explosives from doctors’ module went off accidentally inside the police station on Friday night, officials said An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the bomb squad conducted an inspection of blast site to find out the reason behind the accidental blast. He said that the bomb squad collected samples and also interacted with officials present at the blast site for further investigation. Nine people, including a State Investigating Agency officer, a Naib Tehsildar, and a tailor were killed and 32 others were injured in the blast that ripped through the police station. Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat ruled out any terror angle, stating that any other speculation into the blast incident was unnecessary. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also ordered a probe into the matter, and said that the government stands in solidarity with those affected by the blast—(KNO)
